the big hammock

my friend hansy is doing this amazing public art project and needs support. check it out!
also check out the awesome foundation, that started it all...
i named this blog after a postcard i desperately tried to win on ebay from 1909 featuring a black family living inside a gigantic watermelon. the card was entitled "strange bungalow". i can't get it out of my head. i decided to use it as the namesake for my musings about art/architecture and all the social issues that go along with creative work in the public realm. from 7.1.11 to 7.1.13 this blog will be dedicated to documenting my progress through the MFA program at Art Institute of Boston.

Word, now that's def something you don't see everyday. I'm in Boston and visit the Children's Museum often enough for my little man, I'll be in line when the hammock is in action. Yamani, glad to have found this blog and to read about your activist commitment to cities!
All the best for your activist activities :)
